EIGEN stakedrop claims are open

It's official! Season 1 starts with 6.05% of the initial supply ready to claim today, and Season 1 Phase 2 will bump that to 6.75% in mid-June! In total, Season 1 includes approximately 113 million EIGEN. 

This is just the start – 15% of the initial token supply has been set aside for the community across all seasons.

REMINDER: Claims are only at claims.eigenfoundation.org. 

You can claim today if:

  • You directly restaked ETH or LSTs on EigenLayer before March 15th. Your EIGEN allocation will include 100 bonus tokens.
  • You were an LRT user before March 15th, unless your activities fall into Phase 2 in mid-June. Your EIGEN allocation will include 100 bonus tokens.
  • You directly restaked ETH or LSTs on EigenLayer between March 15th and April 29th. You can claim 100 bonus tokens now, and other rewards will be claimable as a part of Season 2.

Phase 2 is coming in mid-June!  If you were a DeFi adventurer who used Kelp, Pendle, Equilibrium, or similar before March 15th, please check with the DAO or liquid staking protocol for more information.  All new Phase 2 users will receive a 100 EIGEN bonus.

Staking EIGEN: What You Need to Know

  • Why stake? Today, staking EIGEN secures EigenDA, a high-performance Data Availability system supporting Ethereum rollups.  In the near future, you will be able to stake with a variety of AVSs.
  • Stake anytime: You can stake and choose an operator whenever you want.
  • Unstaking EIGEN: Given EIGEN’s innovative forking capabilities, unstaking includes a 24-day waiting period. This period is particularly crucial to uphold essential security properties of the ecosystem. For further details, consult the whitepaper here or summary posted here.
  • EIGEN tokens are currently non-transferrable. We previously announced that EIGEN will be unlockable after new features are live and further decentralization is achieved. These features are targeted for mainnet by September 30th, 2024. Until transfer restrictions are removed, there will be no EIGEN staking rewards for core contributors or investors, and no inflation.
